‘Spade’, 2017, Luso Ranch Horse (Half Lusitano, 1/4 QH, 1/4 Arab), 15.2hh
He got his name ‘Spade’ partly because I referred to him as a my ‘diamond in the rough’ when I first got him. However, his potential was never in doubt. Sired by the same Lusitano Stallion as many of our horses, Apache, and the dam I have admired for years as a nice mare many beginners can get along with at local brandings. I had admired this colt since he was born, so I jumped at the chance to own him.
. Spade was an easy going horse to start and has been uncomplicated to develop. He’s relaxed trail riding and pushing cattle, and has been very accepting of obstacles and new environments. He has the characteristic smooth gaits and lots of talent for collection and lateral movement to explore.
Spade is ‘still under construction‘ as a Luso Ranch horse so you’ll have to inquire on his availability and current price.
